A lie in this morning - breakfast was an hour later! After breakfast
people went their own ways for the day. Most people were visiting Bath for the
first time and planned to have a good look at the City, possibly taking a
orientation tour on an open top bus to be followed by visits to the Roman Baths,
The Circus and the Crescents and some of the museums. Some had decided to do
some shopping and for others the first priority was to find the nearest
laundrette!
I actually cycled home and then drove the car (!!) back into to the centre to
replenish supplies such as energy bars and drinks. I also had to go to the cycle
shop to buy some replacement pedals and toe clips as while passing through
Glastonbury yesterday the toe clip on one of my pedals had fallen off. I have
had trouble with this before where the nuts and bolts holding it on had worked
loose and I had obviously over tightened them as they had pulled right through
the plastic material of the pedal. The pedals must have been one of the cheaper
components on the bike! It was lucky that they had failed when they did and that
I was able to visit a familiar shop to replace them with better quality parts.

Then home to fit them and to have lunch. The rest of the day was spent
relaxing/recovering at home until Molly arrived home from work and we had dinner
together. Then it was time to return to the campsite on the recreation ground.
I cycled the two miles into the City Centre and Molly came by car to bring the
clean clothes and the other things which I had bought earlier in the day.
I arrived back at the camp to find that some people had already had dinner in
town and were relaxing prior to an early night ready to start early the following
morning on the next nine days continuous cycling.
